Overactive Bladder
The Protect PNS is being studied for the treatment of urgency urinary incontinence. Overactive bladder (OAB) is characterized by symptoms including urgency, frequency, nocturia and often associated with a leakage of urine.
Refractory Urinary Urgency,
Urinary Frequency and
Urge Incontinence
Urgency:
A strong desire to urinate despite the bladder fullness, often associated with incontinence
Urge Incontinence:
A sudden, uncontrollable need to urinate causes leakage of urine. This occurs when the bladder muscle contracts inappropriately causing you to lose control of your bladder.
Nocturia:
Waking up during the night because of an urge to urinate. Regularly occurring nocturia, more than 2-3x a night, may be indicative of OAB
Wireless Uro-Stimulation™
The Protect PNS is an investigational device based on wireless neuromodulation technology and is implanted using a minimally invasive procedure.

The Protect PNS device is implanted next to the tibial nerve near the inner ankle.
